Our State and Local Finance Division is our connection to Wisconsin local governments. Each year it releases an Equalized Values Report, which provides an estimate of each taxation district's total taxable value. As of January 1, 2024, Wisconsin's statewide Equalized Value was $907 billion, an 8% increase from last year. Equalized values are used to ensure statewide fairness and equity in property tax distribution. This facilitates the fair distribution of school district and county taxes to each municipality. Read the report to see the change in property values as of January 1, 2024.
