It's not too late to innovate – Innovation Planning Grant (IPG) funds are still available!
The Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR) encourages you to apply for the IPG grant. Make your best effort – an IPG award is not contingent on the success of the proposed project plan.
Who is eligible to apply:
If you are a municipality or tribe with a population not exceeding 5,000 and need a consultant or allocated staffing to develop an innovation plan, make sure to apply for this planning grant.
How to apply for this grant:
- E-file the Innovation Planning Grant application (Form SL-400) within MyDORGov
- Apply by – April 30, 2025
What to include in your application:
- Provide a clear description of the services or duties that needs innovation
- Explain if your entity currently pays for the services, and what outcome you envision – either a potential transfer or collaboration
- List the potential transfer partners
- Providing a signed quote from the consultant doing the feasibility study of your plan, which should:
- Include breakdown of costs of internal staffing
- Identify legal and miscellaneous costs in detail
When will we receive the grant funds?
DOR will review, award, and distribute grant payments monthly through May 2025. For more details on application timeframe and distributions, review our common questions.
- Remaining distribution periods – April 2025, May 2025
- Award amount – DOR can distribute a maximum of $100,000 for each proposed project, with a maximum total of $3 million in grant awards
