Acknowledgements of E-Filed Returns May Be Delayed

Because of the large volume of electronic tax returns filed on or near April 15, 2013, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is experiencing delays in acknowledging the federal income tax returns and/or transmitting the state return to the appropriate state. As a result, DOR is delayed sending acknowledgements to you and your software vendor.

If you transmitted tax returns on or near April 15 and DOR has not sent an acknowledgement, please wait a few days before contacting the department. Do not retransmit the tax returns unless you received an acknowledgement that the Wisconsin return was rejected.

Wisconsin returns submitted on or before April 15 with acknowledged federal returns will be recognized as timely filed by Wisconsin. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience.
