Disaster Relief Update: Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee

​The Department of Revenue recently announced extensions for taxpayers affected by Hurricane Irene. The President has also declared certain counties in Pennsylvania affected by Hurricane Irene a federal disaster area. Affected taxpayers in Pennsylvania are eligible for the extensions described in the previous announcement, with a start date for relief of August 26, 2011.

Additionally, following Tropical Storm Lee the President declared certain counties in New York and Pennsylvania a federal disaster area. Affected taxpayers in this area are eligible for the same extensions available in the Hurricane Irene disaster area. Start dates for this relief are September 3, 2011, for Pennsylvania and September 7, 2011, for New York.
