Utility filing deadlines approaching

The Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR), State and Local Finance Division would like to remind you of upcoming filing deadlines.

Reports due by:

  • March 1, 2024
    • LM-003 – Municipal Light Heat & Power Annual Report
    • LP-003 – Private Light Heat & Power Annual Report
  • March 15, 2024
    • RE-001 – Rural Electric Association Annual Report

Gross Revenue and Ad Valorem Forms Now in My Tax Account

DOR upgraded the utility annual filing process for the 2024 filing season. The above annual reports are located in My Tax Account (MTA), our e-filing system.

Next Steps

You or your representative must be registered as a user in MTA to e-file your annual reports. If you or your representative are:

  • Already registered, you don't need to do anything at this time
  • Not registered, follow the steps below to create a username and password
    1. Go to MTA Logon screen: https://tap.revenue.wi.gov/mta/
    2. Click "Sign Up" under "New? Create new username"
    3. Complete new registration Step 1 and select "Yes" to the question asking if you are a Third-Party Preparer
    4. After completing Step 2 and receiving a username, email our Utility staff at utility@wisconsin.gov and request access to your company's form
