ARPA-SLFRF Annual Project and Expenditure Report Filing Reminder

To: Municipal Clerks, Treasurers and  Heads of Government

Cc: County Clerks and Treasurers

On behalf of the U.S. Department of Treasury (Treasury), the Wisconsin Department of Revenue would like to provide the following information to each Wisconsin non-entitlement unit of local government (NEU) that received American Rescue Plan Act – State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (ARPA-SLFRF) in 2021 and 2022.

Treasury's reporting portal is still open – file as soon as possible

Approximately 300 NEU's have not filed their Annual Project and Expenditure Report, which was due on April 30, 2026. If you have yet to successfully file your Annual Project and Expenditure Report, file as soon as possible.

Project and Expenditure Report

Wisconsin NEUs were required to submit their Annual Project and Expenditure Report to Treasury by April 30, 2026.

  • File your report using either:
    • Treasury's portal through ID.me
    • Treasury's portal through Login.gov
    • Important note: If you do not file the required reports with Treasury, you will have to pay back the ARPA-SLFRF funds your municipality previously received—even if you already spent the funds
  • Only exception – not required to file if Treasury provided notice of successfully completed Closeout Report in Treasury portal
