Attention Form Filers - Enhanced RETR is now available

To: Real Estate Transfer Return Form Filers

The Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR), State and Local Finance Division is pleased to announce the new real estate transfer return (RETR) is now available in My Tax Account (MTA). 

MTA system

System is designed for user-friendly filing, and is safe and secure:

  • No registration, username, or password necessary to file a return
  • It guides you to complete the return accurately and correctly
  • Fields autofill based on your selections (ex: conveyance document or transfer type)
  • Ease of use – users can file, view, or amend a return

Previous RETRS

DOR conversion of previous returns – returns submitted:
  • On or after November 10, 2025, but not yet recorded – were converted to MTA and are available to record in MTA
  • Prior to November 10, 2025, and not recorded by January 8, 2026 – were not converted and are not available to record in MTA
