The Wisconsin Department of Revenue currently offers three methods of transmitting WT-6's.
- HTTPS upload. You navigate to our
web page and use the Ready to Transfer button, identify your file and click an upload button. Upon a successful transfer you will receive a receipt number, we will then email the acknowledgement to the email address you included in the AckAddress element in the electronic WT-6.
Returns submitted using the file transfer application MUST contain a valid email address in the AckAddress element.
- Secure FTP (sFTP). You will need a Secure FTP client and a WAMS ID from the State of Wisconsin. You will drop files in a test or production folder and retrieve your test or production acknowledgements. Please contact your DOR representative for an instruction package.
- REST web transfer. This will require you (or your software vendor) to write code to make the transfer. REST is like a web Service but without using the SOAP protocol. Upon a successful transfer you will receive a receipt number, we will then email the acknowledgement to the email address included in the AckAddress element in the electronic WT-6. Please contact your DOR representative for the proper URL and other pertinent information about programming for a REST transfer.
