  1. Who needs to register for My Tax Account?

    Each My Tax Account user needs his or her own username. For security reasons, do not share this information with anyone else.

  2. Have you registered your business for a seller's permit, withholding tax or other tax type?

    You cannot register for My Tax Account before registering your business with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR).

    You can register for the needed business tax account(s) with one of the following methods:

    • Go to My Tax Account and select "Register a Business" in the "Businesses" panel to submit the request electronically.
    • Complete Form BTR-101 and mail it to DOR. Keep a copy of the completed application for your records.
    • Register through Streamlined Sales Tax Governing Board's website.

    If you have already registered your business with DOR, but did not create a My Tax Account profile, you may sign up for My Tax Account to file and pay your business taxes using the "Sign Up" link on the My Tax Account homepage.
