Michael Wagner was appointed Assistant Deputy Secretary in June 2016. Wagner plays a central role in the development and administration of the agency's operations and policy initiatives.
Prior to his current appointment, Michael served as the agency's Legislative Advisor and as both the Deputy and Administrator of the Department's Division of Research and Policy. He has also been director of the agency's biennial budget since 2011. Prior to joining DOR, Wagner worked in the Wisconsin Senate, including a brief stint as the clerk of the Senate's Revenue Committee.
Michael calls Oshkosh, Wisconsin home and is involved in community activities in the Lake Winnebago region. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from UW-Madison and holds a graduate certificate in Business Foundations from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh.
