The Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR) is launching a second redesigned notice as part of its plain language initiative. The redesigned Notice of Refund will be sent to taxpayers in June. The Notice of Refund now has a simpler layout and other changes:
- Commonly asked questions about the notice are answered on the first page, with direction on where to find more detail
- Details of changes are organized in a table where figures can easily be calculated, with written explanations listed below
- Debts owed to other tax accounts or government agencies are clearly labeled
- Language is revised to be simple, clear and easy to understand, following plain language guidelines
