The Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR), Division of State and Local Finance (SLF), is currently recruiting applicants for Property Assessment Specialist (PAS) and PAS Journey (17-02144) positions. The list created from this recruitment will be used to fill PAS positions that may occur in the next six months within SLF. We are interviewing for positions in the Equalization and Manufacturing Bureaus in Eau Claire, Green Bay, Madison, Milwaukee, and Wausau.

Job Duties
Equalization positions are responsible for the annual establishment of Equalized Values for each taxation district in the state and improving the administration of the assessment and equalization processes.
Some of their duties include:

  • Conduct statistical analysis of data to determine changes in value
  • Field sales of real estate by interviewing bankers, real estate brokers, sellers and buyers to obtain terms of sales
  • Appraise properties using sales, cost, and income information
  • Assist local units of government and taxpayers with assessment questions

Manufacturing positions are responsible for field audit, assessment, and appraisal/valuation work.
Some of their duties include:

  • Complete listing and assessments for manufacturing & telecommunication properties
  • Conduct site visits for valuation, sales verification and validation, classification determinations, and exemption determinations.
  • Investigate, analyze, and prepare written reports for appeals

Special Qualifications: Must possess Wisconsin Assessor Certification at the Assessor II level within six months of appointment.

Salary

  • PAS (pay schedule and range 07-04) pay range is $21.50 to $26.00 per hour plus benefits
  • PAS Journey (pay schedule and range 07-03) pay range is $24.25 to $29.00 per hour plus benefits
