The Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR) would like to inform you that entities no longer need a Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number issued by Dun & Bradstreet when doing business with the federal government. Instead, you will use a Universal Entity Identifier (UEI) number.
What is the UEI?
A UEI number is assigned to you in the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) and managed by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). The UEI number is unique to your entity. You can manage organizational information, such as legal business name and physical address associated with a UEI number, directly from
SAM.gov.
Important Information

No action is required if you have an existing and active registration in
SAM.gov
- If you are registered in SAM.gov, your UEI number was already assigned and is viewable in your account
- Your UEI number replaces your DUNS number in the Treasury.gov application and compliance portal

DUNS number is no longer visible on SAM.gov or Treasury's compliance portal
(where Project and Expenditure (P&E) Report is located)

Already have a SAM.gov account – you no longer have a DUNS number listed in your account, instead you are assigned a UEI number

New SAM.gov registrants – are assigned a UEI number as part of their registration; this assigned UEI number is used in your ARPA-SLFRF P&E Report in Treasury's compliance portal

Treasury.gov and compliance portal – your existing account records should be auto-filled with the UEI number in these applications. You will see your UEI number when you begin to fill out your P&E Report.
