The Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR) distributes payments to Wisconsin counties on the first Monday in May and the fourth Monday in July each year. ​DOR can also make payments directly to a municipality if it qualifies for one of the exceptions and follows the requirements under state law (sec. 79.10, Wis. Stats.).
