New Reject Codes on E-Filed Returns

A taxpayer or preparer who files an individual income tax return through fed/state e-filing either receives an acknowledgement that the return was transmitted or reason(s) why the return was not accepted. DOR rejects certain incorrect returns rather than loading them into WINPAS. The reasons for those rejects, along with other e-filing specifications are available on the Developers page.

Generally, DOR does not add new reject codes after the tax filing season begins. However, because we have found that many vendors are not following the published specifications, the following new reject codes have been added:
