  1. Why do I need a WAMS User ID?

Access to the e-filing system is restricted in order to protect your privacy and the privacy of others. The WAMS User ID and password verifies your identity so we can provide you with access to your information and prevent access by unauthorized individuals.

  2. Can I use one WAMS User ID for everyone in the company?

No, each person must register for their own “personal” WAMS User ID to access the system. This ensures doing secure business with the State of Wisconsin over the internet. The WAMS User ID belongs to the individual not to the manufacturer or current employer. A separate WAMS User ID for each authorized person provides additional security.

  3. Is the WAMS User ID the same as my Sales Tax Z Log-on ID?

No, although both IDs are used by Department of Revenue (DOR), they are different systems.

  4. How do I find out if I already have a WAMS User ID?

Go to https://on.wisconsin.gov choose the option “Profile Management (Forgot your Wisconsin User ID or password?)”. Follow the directions to recover your information.

  5. What if I forgot my WAMS User ID and/or password?

Go to https://on.wisconsin.gov choose the option “Account Recovery (Forgot your Wisconsin User ID or password?)”. Follow the directions to recover your information.

  6. What if the system told me the email is already in use?

You already have a WAMS User ID. You may have registered for it using a different state system. To recover your WAMS User ID go to https://on.wisconsin.gov choose the option “Account Recovery (Forgot your Wisconsin User ID or password?)”. Follow the directions to recover your information.
