Your 2007 individual income tax return is due April 15, 2008, unless you have an extension of time to file. Late-filed returns may be subject to the following charges:
- Late-filing fee --
- $2, if the net tax is less than $10
- $3, if the net tax is $10 or more but less than $20
- $5, if the net tax is $20 or more
- $30, if the return is 60 or more days late
- Delinquent interest -- 1.5% per month (18% per year) Note: During an extension period, interest is charged at 1% per month (12% per year)
- Negligence penalty for failure to timely file -- 5% per month of the tax required to be shown on the return, up to a maximum of 25%
